School Readiness Program

Our School Readiness Program is aimed at children who are 3 years 6 months and older and will be attending a school-based kindergarten in February each year.

We use a range of holistic wellbeing and development strategies to encourage children to participate in big and small groups, collaborate in learning and improve their social, emotional, fine and gross motor, verbal communication skills and build their independence.

Some examples of what we do include:

  • Building their self-reliance, independence and sense of agency - taking care of own belongings, toileting on their own, dressing and undressing themselves, following hygiene practices effectively.

  • Early literacy and numeracy - writing and recognising the letters of the alphabet, labelling each letter and saying the associated sound, counting, writing and recognising numbers, doing simple addition and subtraction.

  • Social, emotional and communication skills development - confidence to speak in front of a group, communicate needs, express ideas and thoughts, ask questions freely, participate in collaborative activities and emotional self-regulation.

  • Fine and gross motor skills development - holding a pencil, drawing and writing with control, using scissors to cut, improving finger and palm strength, building core strength for better physical capability, spatial orientation and awareness, balance and coordination.

Program runs from 9:30am-3:30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday each week between July and December. Attendance for all 3 sessions are compulsory.

Cost per week is $210/-

Child Care Subsidy

Children over 3 years of age are eligible for the Australian government's preschool subsidy of 36 hours per fortnight. This means, even if your family doesn't meet the criteria to receive the ordinary child care subsidy, you can claim subsidy for 3 school readiness program sessions per week at our early learning centre. The subsidy acts as a fee discount.

You must apply for Child Care Subsidy via your MyGov app to receive this subsidy. The service cannot undertake this task on your behalf.
